DIY Dollar Store Wreath
When I went into the Dollar Tree the other day, I was so inspired by all the great Holiday decor that they had. They had so many great DIY supplies and a lot of ready made items as well. I bought a few things that I needed along with some supplies that I already had at home and came up with this DIY Farmhouse inspired Dollar Tree Wreath. I made 2 and it only took about 30 minutes to make both. That’s my kind of DIY!
Hot glue gun
Twine (I used 2 different sizes)
2 small wreaths (Depending on the size wreath you want to make)
extra wreath picks or ties (Optional)
embellishments/decor for the wreath
I started with these small wreaths from Dollar Tree. Now, you could use them as is but I wanted something larger for a door. I opened up 2 15” wreaths by removing the staples with a pliers. I connected the 2 now half wreaths together with some floral wire. I found some faux wreath ties at the dollar store that worked great for making my wreath look a little bit fuller. They were super easy because they had a wire center and I could just wrap them around like large twist ties.
For the center of the wreath, I started by tying the twine on 1 part of the wreath and just went across the wreath a few times by wrapping around the outside of the wreath and tying again when I was satisfied with how it looked. For this part, mix it up by going completely across the wreath and then just a third to mix up it and make it look less uniform. How many times you go across the wreath is up to you and how you want it to look. I did this 2 different times with different size twine, but that is completely optional.
The last part of this wreath is to glue the embellishments on. I used Holiday floral picks and a small wooden ornament. This part is completely up to you and how you want your wreath to look. To some, this wreath may be a little plain, but it is completely my style and exactly what I wanted for the door.
