An Organizing System
School has only been in session for a few weeks and already I have an over flowing pile of school worksheets, art projects and drawings. I do love to see everything they do at school. As you know, it’s impossible to keep everything! I have tried to create an easy and minimal way to organize kids school work. This is what has been working for us so far.
I like to keep some, but not all of my kids worksheets and art work. I also like to keep it simple and some what organized. This system that I have been using for the past few years, I found works for our family to keep everything minimal but still gives our family time to enjoy cute little creations.
After school I go through back packs and hang up worksheets and art work on our magnetic board. After a few days or when the board is too full, I go through the school work and decide what to keep and what to toss. Having the most current school work out on display for a few days makes me feel less guilty about throwing some away!
For the art projects I decide to keep, I have a hanging file box that keeps everything organized and does not take up a lot of space. For the front of each file, I created a printable that also doubles as a coloring page. It also helps keep track of the date and school information that you always think you will remember but you know you never do.
Here are the FREE printable pages for each grade. I printed out every grade at one time in hopes to help me continue to organize my kids school work.
I hope this helps give ideas to get some of the school paper work under control while also preserving memories of everything your kids have accomplished.
